The IKO Discovery Course consists of Level 1 & 2 Courses, 4 lessons in total. 

Level 2/ Lesson 2 - This is your last session in the course.

The Discovery course is where the dream starts!  Gain your IKO Level 1&2 card!

Upon completion you will be awarded an IKO card showing the completion of the Level 1&2 course. This will enable the typical student to kite 50 meters and be safe in the water.

This course will take on average 4 Lessons of 2 hours each as recommended by our experienced instructors. 

Each week a schedule will be posted with the different lessons so if you miss one you can book into the lesson you missed:

L1 / Lesson 1. (2 hrs)

Your IKO Instructor will introduce you to various aspects of the sport, and teach you various skills on land before performing on water all the while learning the safety rules. Your IKO Instructor will make you learn how to keep safe by showing you how to assess the wind and physical location; use the safety systems; manage proper equipment; set-up; and control the trainer kite.

1st hour : Safety | Overview Equipment | Overview Rigging and De-rigging of Kite | Environmental Overview | Wind Direction and Basic Kite Theory

2nd Hour: First Flight | Basic Kite Control Skills in up-to waste high Water | Safety System 

• Prerequisite: swimming skills of 50 meters
• Capacity: 4 persons in a group maximum, gear provided by QKITE
